The departmental grading policy is:
Recommendations
French 6 and 7 students earning a C or higher will be recommended for French 7 and 8 respectively. The department suggests French 1 for students who would benefit by reviewing previous content before advancing.
French 8 students earning a 90% or higher should consider and register for the honors French 3 course at the high school.

- 40% listening and speaking assessments
- 40% reading and writing assessments
- 10% homework
- 10% daily participation and preparation
